If you have a desire to get out and enjoy spectacular trails north of Toronto make sure you get to the Almaguin Highlands for the best trail system in the area.
The Almaguin Highlands Economical Development came up with a way to show tourists and locals what type of trails the Almaguin Highlands has to offer. They printed 6000 placemats showing a colourful map displaying trails from Callander to Novar so everyone can see our great trail system. The Maps on these placemats shows seven different trails from multi-purpose to hiking.
This trail system covers Callander, Powassan, the Old Nipissing Ghost Trail, the Forgotten Trails on the edge of Algonquin Park, the River Run Canoe Route from South River, provincial park trails in Restoule and Mikisew, the Ahmic Lake Circle Route, local trails in Magnetawan, Kearney and Sprucedale as well as the Park to Park trail through Seguin.
These placemats can be found at the information centres throughout the area along with other trail maps.
